Week 30 (3.2.2006 to 10.2.2006)

I had my consultation on 10.2.2006.  Baby’s weight was 1.5 kg and my weight was 48.7 kg.  We were putting on weight very well.  Baby was in head down positioning.  The placenta was in good positioning.  Baby looked like the feature of me, especially his nose.  I visualized that baby was very happy and healthy.  He was really very strong and kicked very well.  I was very happy to see the scan of my baby. By 33 weeks, his ideal weight will be 2 kg.  

My two brothers loved this baby brother very much.  They liked to see his scan.  They liked to kiss him and talk to him.  They started to read flash card for the baby.  Baby kicked viciously when he listened to the reading of his brothers. In addition, my elder son loved to play piano and sing song for baby.  I was very touched to see that they bond very well with one another. 

Week 29 ( 27.1.2006 to 3.2.2006)

I spent a lot of time to find the name for baby.  When I asked him whether he liked the name, but he did not respond to me.  Most likely, he found that the name was not suitable for him.

On 30.1.2006, my sister called me up and gave some choice for the name of baby e.g. Zhi Le (Wisdom and Joyfulness), Zhi Cong (Wisdom and Intelligent) and Zhi Qian (Wisdom and Humble).She got the inspirataion after reading the Bible.

On 1.2.2006, he had the response finally after I had written the entire name in Chinese calligraphy.  I sat down on a chair after my lunch.  I asked him patiently and sincerely to select the name he liked most.  When I asked him "Zhi Le", he responded by kicking three times.  It was very strange and interesting that I heard the ringing of the church bell for a wedding.  I got the meaning 1) His confirmation of his name. (2) The meaning of his name (Joyfulness). Then, Auntie Annie (my helper) asked him," Have you really decided your name?"  He kicked me to confirm one more time. 

We were very happy to get the confirmation from him.  He responded very well to his selected name which means joyfulness, optimistic and musical instrument.

I felt that Zhi Le was playing with his fingers like playing the piano keyboard because his brother and I love to play with piano and singing.  I found that the name was very suitable to him.  It was very lively and happy.

Week 28 ( 20.1.2006 to 27.1.2006)

Although Daddy was very busy at work, he still spent some time to give love message to baby.  He said to baby," Daddy, mummy, brothers love you.  You are special and unique.  You are a strong and healthy baby."  Baby was so excited and kept on kicking and responding.  Daddy was surprised and amazed by the respond of baby. 

Week 27 (13.1.2006 to 20.1.2006)

I am happy to know that my unborn baby was putting on weight.  He was 800g.  He grew very well.  The placenta and the positioning of baby were good.

However, after the glucose tolerant test, I found out that I had impaired glucose tolerance.  After I fasted and took glucose for 2 hours, my level of sugar was 144 (4 points higher than normal range).  I had to control and monitor my diet and sugar closely.  I was a bit disappointed initially because I expected my sugar level should be normal as I had made conscious effort to prevent it to happen.  The more I want to control the situation, the higher chance that I was getting it. 

My teacher told me that my sugar level might be related to physical and emotional issues in my life.  As I ponder on that, I found out that I had the issues in control and fear. I want to control my sugar level as I am fear that I might have diabetes during pregnancy.

Week 22 -26 (23.12.2005 to 26.1.2006)

I was having coughing for a period of time.  Therefore, I needed to rest and recover at home.  My prolonged coughing was due to my sensitive nose and cold.  I learnt to take care of myself.  In the mean time, my teacher, May Ng, taught me a healing program to clean  my heart.  It is a 12 days program with positive focus of unforgiveness, harmful action, love, joy, faith, patience and son.  It really helped me to clean my heart.  I did the meditation and felt peaceful and relieved.

Week 21 (2.12.2005 to 9.12.2005)

I went to medical check up.  I have been putting on weight.  My weight was 45.9 kg which was the benchmark for the growth of baby.  Doctor did a detailed scan of the baby and she told me that baby was a boy. 

In fact, I had known it when he was 6 weeks old. I remembered that I had a heart to heart dialogue with my baby.  I asked home whether he was a boy or girl.  I was quite eager to know about it.  Surprisingly, the answer told me that he was a boy.  I asked him three times," If you are a boy, please make some movement to indicate." He responded by kicking three times.  I told my baby," I'll accept you as who you are."  With unconditional acceptance, baby and I were relieved after the dialogue.

Week 20 (25.11.2005 to 2.12.2005)

Week 19 (18.11.2005 to 25.11.2005)

I went for the medical consultation on 25.11.2006 to check for the spine of unborn baby.  Initially, baby did not flip so that doctor cannot see the spine clearly.  After half an hour later, I talked to my baby and asked him to flip to the position that doctor can scan him properly.  However, he did not flip after talking to him.  (Maybe, I did not really trust baby can do it).

Then, my husband and I went for a walk for another half an hour to relax ourselves.  Father started to talk to baby.  He touched my tummy and said gently to baby," Baby, we love you.  Daddy, mummy, grandparents and your brothers wanted to see a picture of your spine.  Please flip over so that they can see your picture clearly.  Can you flip your back so that doctor can see your spine clearly?  We trust that you can do it."

We entered into the consulatation room, doctor scanned him again.  Surprisingly, baby had flipped to the correct positioning beautifully.  His spine was very smooth and strong.  We were very happy to see that baby was very healthy from head to toe.  We were relieved and joyful. 

I learnt to trust and believe my unborn baby. He did his best in his own way.

Week 17 (4.11 to 11.11.2005)

On 8.11.2005, I attended medical consultation.  My doctor told me that I was in lack of calcium, protein and iron.  In addition, the Alpha Beta Screening NTD (Neural Tube Defects) risk : 1 in 396.  I was worried after hearing the news.  I prayed for God (universe) for assistance.   I asked my friends, Rita and Deng Peng , to pray for me.  When I was worried, I prayed to God to reduce my anxiety and let go of my worry.  I trusted God will help and support me.  When I was at Fetal Monitoring Clinic, I saw other parents who were anxious while waiting for their scan,  I felt how worry they were because we were in the same boat waiting for the result of the scan.  I started to pray for God to help us going through the scanning.  It took a lot of courage for mothers to work through it .  I felt great when I thought about my baby and other mothers.

Week 18 (11.11 to 18.11.2005)

It took me 3 hours to do the scan as the positioning of baby was not suitable for scanning.  When the result of scan was out, I was so relieved to know that the result was normal. Through this experience, I learnt to trust the universe would take care of me and baby.  I learnt to let go after I had done my best.  I learnt to talk to my baby and ask him to position well.  I appreciated that I had done my best in my situation.

Week 16 (29.10.2005 to 4.11.2005)

On 29.10.2005, I had the medical consultation.  We bought our children to see the scan of the baby.  Initially, the baby was sleeping.  Brothers were calling the baby, "Baby, we came to see you.  Wake up."  Finally, baby woke up and stretched his body .  Baby kicked the legs and waved his hands to express his welcoming to the brothers.  Baby was about 10.4 cm.  Dr. Chan told me that the baby would be a boy and she would reconfirm with me next time. I was happy to see that the baby responded to the brothers' calling.  They loved the baby.
